Camp Allen / Naval Station (Norfolk)
Located just west of the center of town and on the opening to the Chesapeake Bay, Camp Allen and Naval Station Norfolk are just a few minutes from premiere attractions. Downtown Norfolk, only seven miles down the road, provides plenty of shopping, historic sites, and museums. Unique neighborhoods, like Ghent, provide Norfolk with a charming feel as their tree-lined streets are home to many popular Mom-and-Pop shops.
Langley/ Fort Eustis (Newport News)
Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis are located in the Newport News/ Hampton area, or “the peninsula”. Newport News is about an hour away from Richmond and Virginia Beach, a half an hour from Norfolk and Williamsburg, and only minutes from areas like Isle of Wight County and Gloucester. The peninsula offers plenty of shopping, a few large event venues, and a handful of museums including the Virginia Living Museum, and the Virginia War Museum.
Oceana (Virginia Beach)
In the heart of Virginia Beach is Oceana Naval Air Station. Virginia Beach boasts beautiful shoreline with a bustling boardwalk called Beach Street USA, which hosts concerts, festivals and other events that are great for the whole family. It is also home to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. All of these attractions are only minutes away. Oceana is approximately 20 miles east of downtown Norfolk and 65 miles from Williamsburg.
Camp Peary (York County)
Camp Peary is located in one of the most historically significant counties in the nation. Considered one of the points in the Historic Triangle of Colonial Virginia, York County is home to many important landmarks. Camp Peary is situated along the York River and offers miles of recreational and residential waterfront property. York County is only minutes away from Busch Gardens Williamsburg, outlet shopping, and several parks. Camp Peary is located almost perfectly halfway between Richmond (the state capital) and the Virginia Beach oceanfront, with about an hour to both.
Little Creek (Norfolk, VA Beach)
Little Creek Amphibious Base is located near the Ocean View area of Norfolk. With 7.5 miles of calm Chesapeake Bay beaches, parks and local eateries, Ocean View maintains its reputation as a quiet beachfront community. Little Creek is a convenient 15 miles to the oceanfront and Virginia Beach Town Center, and only nine miles to downtown Norfolk, making it an ideal area for those who are hoping to stay centrally located.
